Sales pipeline
The set of live opportunities, sorted by stage from first call to paid invoice.
The sales pipeline represents live opportunities and their stage: contact made, appointment set, quote sent, followed up, won, invoiced. It's often visualized in columns (Kanban) in a CRM, and its total value — the sum of opportunities weighted by their probability — is a snapshot of future revenue.
A tradesperson's pipeline leak number one doesn't show up in the CRM: it's the requests that never enter it. The 7 PM missed call leaving no message never existed for the pipeline — it only exists in the competitor's invoice. Wiring the phone into the pipeline means exactly this: every call, missed ones included, becomes at minimum a card somewhere, and ideally an appointment.
