Virtual number
A cloud-hosted number, detachable from any physical phone — forward it wherever you want.
A virtual number is a number that doesn't live on a physical line: it resides in a VoIP carrier's cloud and forwards calls to any destination — your mobile, your partner's, an AI agent, a voicemail. You manage it from a web interface: forwarding schedules, routing rules, associated SMS, distribution across several phones.
It's the elementary brick of modern business telephony, for three reasons. Cost: a few euros a month versus a full landline subscription. Separation: a business number distinct from the personal mobile, transferable upon departure. And routing: conditional forwarding — on no-answer, on busy, after hours — to the system that handles the call for you is wired onto a virtual number.
