Customer record
The CRM's basic unit: one person, their contact details, history, and quirks.
The customer record is a client's individual file in a CRM or line-of-business software: identity, number, address, call and message history, quotes, invoices, preferences. Properly maintained, it turns a salesperson's memory into company memory — what the owner knows becomes what the tool knows, retrievable by a colleague, a partner, or a successor.
In service trades, a record's value lies in details the general public never thinks of: gate code, wary dog, walk-up with no elevator, already quoted in March, prefers calls after 6 PM. Those details separate a service that impresses from one that asks everything again. A record fed automatically — by calls, texts, and appointments writing themselves to it — stays current without discipline.
