Timestamped consent
Proof of consent recorded with its date, time, channel, and exact wording.
A timestamped consent is a consent whose full trace is kept: when it was given (date and time), through which channel (form, text, checkbox), with the exact wording the person saw and accepted. Timestamping turns a verbal promise into enforceable proof.
It's a direct GDPR requirement: the data controller must be able to demonstrate consent — the burden of proof falls on them, not the customer. It's also a TCPA requirement on the US side for automated messaging: "prior express written consent" is proven with precise records. Noting "Mr. Dupont agreed over the phone" doesn't cut it; keeping the timestamp does.
